Shoulder Surgery
Latarjet Procedure for Shoulder Instability in Peshawar
The Latarjet procedure treats recurrent shoulder dislocation where you have lost enough bone that a standard Bankart repair would not hold. Dr. Abdul Hadi performs the procedure at Pak Medical Center, Khyber Bazar.
- Bone block transfer
- CT-based planning
- For glenoid bone loss
What is the Latarjet procedure?
The Latarjet procedure is an operation that transfers the coracoid process of your scapula to the front of the glenoid — your shoulder socket — creating a bone block that stops the humeral head dislocating forwards.
It is the established option where you have glenoid bone loss, and where repairing the soft tissue alone would be likely to fail.
You may need this procedure if
- Your shoulder keeps dislocating forwards
- Your CT scan shows significant glenoid bone loss
- A previous stabilization operation has not held
- You are returning to contact sport or physical work
Recovery & rehabilitation
Your bone loss is measured on CT before your surgery is planned. Where bone is missing, this procedure treats the underlying cause rather than only the soft tissue damage around it.
